❤️ SAME MISSION. EVERY OTHER WEEK.

Kingdom Talk was created with a purpose: to encourage conversations about Faith. Family. Freedom. Truth.

I believe understanding what happens in our local communities matters. The decisions being made today will impact our families, our children, and future generations.

But being informed is only the beginning.

We are called to listen, learn, seek wisdom, and become intentional about how we serve the communities God has placed us in.

📖 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God…” — James 1:5 (KJV)

My prayer is that Kingdom Talk continues to be a place where we can ask questions, learn from one another, and approach important conversations with both truth and grace.

Sometimes God reminds us of His presence in the most unexpected moments.

What started as a girls’ trip to Panama City Beach to celebrate my 40th birthday turned into an unexpected opportunity to meet Stephanie and the crew from The Weather Channel! 🎤🌊

As storm clouds gathered over the Gulf, I found myself thinking about something much bigger than the weather.

Life is full of storms.

Some storms come with warnings. Others arrive unexpectedly. Some threaten our comfort, while others challenge our faith, our families, and everything we hold dear.

But one truth remains:

The storm may be powerful, but our God is greater! 🙌

We don’t always know what tomorrow holds, but we can trust the One who holds tomorrow.

📖 Psalm 46:1

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

God doesn’t promise that we’ll never experience difficulties, but He is our refuge when those difficulties come.

And sometimes, our greatest responsibility is not simply to weather the storm ourselves, but to help prepare and protect those entrusted to our care.

That brings me to something especially close to my heart.

🎙️ EPISODE 4 IS NOW LIVE!

🏫 School Boards — Why Should We Care?

Our children are growing up in a world filled with challenges, decisions, and influences that will shape their futures.

As parents and community members, we have a responsibility to understand what’s happening in our schools and who is making the decisions that affect our children.

In Episode 4 of Kingdom Talk with Macy King, I sit down with:

Tammy Hayes — School Board Member

Dr. Scott Langford — Director of Schools

Together, we explore the role of school boards, why local education leadership matters, and why informed parental involvement is so important.

Because here’s something I firmly believe:

Our children need parents who are informed, engaged, and willing to stand up for their future!

We cannot always control the storms our children will face, but we can help equip them with the foundation, wisdom, and support they’ll need to navigate them.

And that begins with being present, informed, and involved.

👑 Seeing Sumner County Through a Kingdom Lens

Kingdom Talk was created with a simple mission: to encourage meaningful conversations where faith, family, freedom, and truth meet community leadership.

Because faith doesn’t stop at the church doors.

It should influence how we raise our children, serve our neighbors, seek wisdom, and participate in the communities God has entrusted to us.

We may not be able to stop every storm, but we can choose to face life’s challenges with faith, wisdom, courage, and a willingness to act.

💬 LET’S HAVE A KINGDOM CONVERSATION!

What’s one storm God has brought you through that strengthened your faith?

And as we celebrate the release of Episode 4:

Do you believe parents today are informed enough about the decisions being made by their local school boards?

👇 Leave your thoughts in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.

Your story or perspective may encourage someone else to become more informed, more engaged, or more confident in their faith.

Your child spends thousands of hours in school—but do you know who makes the policies, approves the budget, helps determine curriculum, and sets the direction behind those classroom doors?

In this episode of Kingdom Talk, I sit down with Dr. Scott Langford and Tammy Hayes for an important conversation about how our schools actually work—and what parents need to know.

We talk about the role of the Sumner County School Board, how curriculum and policy decisions are made, where school funding comes from, school safety and SROs, technology in our schools, and what parents can do when they have a question or concern.

One of my biggest takeaways from this conversation is simple:

Parents don’t have to wait until there’s a crisis to become informed.

Know who represents you. Ask questions. Read the agenda. Attend a meeting. Support what is good—and respectfully speak up when something needs attention.

📖 “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” — Esther 4:14

💬 What is ONE thing you wish more parents understood about how decisions are made in our schools?

Leave your thoughts in the comments. I want Kingdom Talk to be a place where our community can listen, learn, ask questions, and engage respectfully.

• What happens before, during, and after Election Day
• Election security and the integrity of the voting process

As parents, families, and citizens, the environments around us shape what we see, hear, and accept as normal. That includes our schools, our culture, our communities, and the decisions being made by local leaders.

In this episode, we talk about why local government matters, why informed citizens matter, and why paying attention to what is happening close to home is so important.

📖 Scripture:
Romans 12:2 reminds us:

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

We don’t have to know everything about government to begin paying attention. We can listen. We can learn. We can ask questions. And we can become better informed about the community we call home.

In this episode:

• The personal story behind Kingdom Talk
• Why local government affects our everyday lives
• The importance of knowing what our children are being exposed to
• Why informed citizens strengthen their communities
• The role of faith, discernment, and wisdom in civic engagement
• Simple ways to start learning about your local government

Your Listener Challenge

This week, take one step.

Find out who represents you locally. Learn the name of one elected official, look at an upcoming public meeting, or spend a few minutes learning how your county government works.

You don’t have to become an expert overnight.

Just start paying attention.

What we protect today shapes tomorrow.
