In the very first episode of Kingdom Talk with Macy King, I share the personal moment that caused me to start paying closer attention to what was happening in my community—and ultimately helped inspire this podcast.
As parents, families, and citizens, the environments around us shape what we see, hear, and accept as normal. That includes our schools, our culture, our communities, and the decisions being made by local leaders.
In this episode, we talk about why local government matters, why informed citizens matter, and why paying attention to what is happening close to home is so important.
📖 Scripture:
Romans 12:2 reminds us:
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
We don’t have to know everything about government to begin paying attention. We can listen. We can learn. We can ask questions. And we can become better informed about the community we call home.
In this episode:
• The personal story behind Kingdom Talk
• Why local government affects our everyday lives
• The importance of knowing what our children are being exposed to
• Why informed citizens strengthen their communities
• The role of faith, discernment, and wisdom in civic engagement
• Simple ways to start learning about your local government
